The Orlingbury Unofficial Conker Happening.

OUCH! ConkersThere is something quintessentially English about spending a beautiful autumnal afternoon on the village green whilst playing conkers and drinking a pint of beer.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what you can do on Sunday 21st October 2018.

You don’t have to drink the beer.  We also serve wine.  And soft drinks.  And tea and coffee.

But you do have to come down and enjoy a traditional game of conkers.  Who knows –  you could even win the competition!!  And remember, this competition is probably second only in importance to the official World Conker Championships at nearby Southwick.

Take a look at the OUCH! Conkers 2018 A5 flier…. you could even download one, print it out and put it up where you work.  Or at your school.  Or in your car window!!

We provide the conkers and the entertainment.  You provide us with £1 entrance fee.  It’s as simple as that!

With 7 arenas – suitably named as Veni, Vidi, Vici, Querci, Quinci, Seqci and Septic – the action will be as fast and as furious as a game of conkers can be!!  You can see the full rules here.

Registration is from 1:30pm and play commences at 2:00pm.

There is plenty of parking around the village green or at the local pub.

And why not make a day of it.  Have lunch at The Queen’s Arms and then stroll up to the village green suitably fortified with a Sunday Roast and a beer or two.  Or visit the pub after you’ve won the competition!!

It does not get any more English than this.

STOP PRESS – Listen to OUCH! organiser Andy Gosling conduct a conker match live on radio on the John Griff Show on BBC Radio Northampton.
