ORLINGBURY PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of Meeting held in the village hall

On Thursday 11th September 2014.

  1. Present

Councillors Cole (Chairman), Campbell (deputy), Gosling, Huckvale, Morris, and Alison McLaven Clerk

  1. Apologies for Absence

Councillors Hutchins and Rootham sent there apologies which were accepted.

 

  1. Declarations of interest

There were no changes to the declarations

  1. Approval of Minutes of 10th July 2014

These were signed as a true and correct record

 

  1. Co-option

Mary Huckvale was welcomed to the council.

 

  1. Public Question Time.

There were no members of the public in attendance, but Councillor Cole had been approached by Rod Derry and been asked to raise the matter of the upcoming elections next May. The Council will do all it can to publicise this and to encourage people to stand for election.

 

  1. Trees on the green and vegetation.

The quotes for the work on the trees will be emailed to all councillors and a decision made, the work at the allotment will be done by the allotment holders.

 

Councillor Cole has been in contact with Vicky Stockdale and Alan Waller regarding Knotweed at Vicky’s property. The Clerk will print out information from a website and send this to both of them.

 

  1. Village Defibrillator

The Clerk has not received any further information regarding training for the defibrillator, and she will chase for dates and then pass them to Gillian Walton to pass on to those who had first aid training through the council.  IS & S have paid for the cabinet to house the defibrillator, the Clerk to write and thank him.  Once the cabinet is in place the emergency services will be made aware and there information will be put in Connect 5, and on various notice boards around the village.

 

  1. Footpath along Harrowden Road

There is no more information regarding the bore holes for the footpath and the Clerk will chase this matter, and advise when she receives any information

 

  1. Correspondence
    The majority of correspondence was just newsletters and information regarding training courses etc.

 

Councillor Cole had received a letter from Alan Waller concerned about the lack of time for response to the pre planning consultation document regarding the wind farm at Rye Hill. The Parish Council its self had not even received the consultation document and were unaware of the document.

 

  1. Finance

The following accounts were approved for payment

 

848      Orlingbury village hall rent                     10.50

850      HMRC PAYE                                                   50.40

851      A McLaven salary x 2 & expenses       223.43

852      Sywell Mowers (mower repairs)           176.00

 

  1. Planning

WP/14/00539/LBC –Insertion of a window in a storage room annex to the garage. Dairy Barn, Peter Allen. No objections or comments

 

WP/14/00592/FUL  – extension to form an additional garage with room over and storage facilities in existing garage. Extension of roof with hipped gable and additional dormer window to match existing dormers. 16 Pytchley Road, Mark Edwards. . No objections or comments

 

  1. Any other business

Councillor Cole has contacted the Land Registry regarding the allotment fence, and is awaiting a web link.

 

It was noted that it will be Remembrance Sunday shortly after the next meeting, the Clerk will organize the wreath for the service.
