Minutes of Annual Parish Meeting 18th April 2013

These were approved as a true and correct record

Councillor Timms – Report on the Borough Council

There is not much to report, the main thing is the change in Boundaries, Orlingbury is now in Sywell & Harrowden Ward. Staffing is still being reduced at the Borough.

Councillor Cole – Report on the Parish Council

The Council is one councillor light at the moment. Councillor Hutchins is doing a sterling job on the sign, liaising with the Blacksmith and will report to the AGM.

Reports from the Organisations :

Charlotte Cook – Neighbourhood Watch

All quiet at the moment, although there are a lot phone scams in operation and people should be aware, the main scam at the moment is a caller saying they are the Police, from Essex and they have arrested a youth with your credit card asking you to confirm details. The co-ordinators remain the same, with one possible change in the future. The police were in the village recently with the speed camera.

Andy Gosling – Drama Group

Sadly the group lost its chairman last year. The play in March was well received, 340 tickets sold over the 4 performances. There was new blood in the play and they are still looking for new talent.  The group has not decided where to share the profits yet, as there are problems storing the stage sets. Next years plays are being read through to decide on the performance.

Written Reports

These were received from the following organisations and are available from the Clerk

Young Church, Isham & Orlingbury Bowls Club, The Green Team, Joseph Manning Trust, Rainbows Brownies and Guides, Fete, Village Hall

The meeting closed at 7.55pm with thanks to those attending.
